The plus size clothing industry has increased dramatically over recent years, yet it is still surprising that many fashion designers have yet to produce stylish plus size women's clothing.  Is it too much to ask for a trendy dress to be made in my size?  You would think that designers would want the increased profit of plus size women shoppers.  Instead we are limited when shopping.  As Valentines Day approaches we all know the drill.  It’s time to scurry through the malls and boutiques in hopes to find that mouth dropping dress.  This year I have a better solution for every curvaceous woman out there thanks to this fabulous online merchant, cherished-woman.com.  Not only do they have stylish dresses but plus size lingerie to wear underneath.  What more could we ask for in an online clothing store?  Everything from the colors to details was designed to accentuate the curves on our full figured bodies. What more to ask for in an online clothing store, a one stop shop for sexy women everywhere.

For Christmas I got what is now my favorite tee.  You know how we always say that our clothes describe who we are?  Well this tee is one the most out spoken article in my closet. I have a closet full of women's plus size clothing and I have never felt as connected to my clothes as I do to this top.  With just three simple words it speaks to everyone, a message that not many plus size women are brave enough to say themselves. What better way to start the New Year than with confidence to stand up for who you are.  No matter what the year may bring lets all remember to stay body positive.  Viva Les Curves!!

With the New Year comes new fashion and if you are anything like me that means upgrading the plus size womens clothing in your closet.  Fashion trends are always changing making life hard on a frugal fashionista.  Some of us don’t have the funds to keep our wardrobe stocked with the latest fashions. One of the best ways to keep your wallet and style from hurting is by keeping an eye out for the hottest sales. It is no secret that many retail stores are dropping prices because of the current economic crisis.  Although that may be a problem for retailers it’s definitely a solution for us.  Start the New Year off right by brightening up your closet with these fabulous SALE dresses.

Last night an old episode of The Biggest Loser aired.  “The Biggest Loser: Where Are They Now?” is actually one of my favorite episodes.  The reality show really struck home. Every season I sat in my plus size clothing and watched the lives of people that I could relate to.  Watching them was like watching someone else walk in my shoes. The show not only helped its characters succeed but many of the viewers watching too.  I don't think the people on the show realized how much one decision in their lives would affect thousands of people.  It is a lot easier to stay motivated when you have the support of someone that you are able to relate to.

Seeing how hard they worked to loose the inches really opened up my eyes on the importance of life and that is to live it.  It is impossible to live life to the fullest when all you have to worry about is your health.  Everyone has a different story, some happy while others not so much.  But there is never a story that gives reason to kill your body early because of the substances you feed it.  Our bodies are our temples, and that’s exactly how we should treat them. I know it’s not easy to resist the cup cakes, chips, pizza etc. but it’s all about discipline.

Statistics show that the United States of America is the fattest country in the world!  There is nothing wrong with being thick or the term everyone loves using “fat”.  There is however, something wrong with being a gluten and being unhealthy.  Putting harmful toxins into your body can cause for many sicknesses.  Sicknesses such as high blood pressure, clogged arteries, heart diseases and even bad skin.  Being obese can affect you physically and for some even mentally.  We've seen the people on The Biggest Loser rid themselves of hundreds of pounds and maybe it is time we all do the same.

After watching this episode I couldn’t help but be inspired, inspired not to just be thin but to be healthy. This episode was not only the best but my favorite.  After watching them go through the vigorous process of losing weight it was nice to be able to see how they are doing after the show.  Their stories are models for all us, that we can be healthier, all it takes is the motivation, the discipline, and the drive.  I am looking forward to starting a new workout regime and diet, and aim to look an feel as good as the contestants on this show.

There is discrimination based on weight, height, age and over all attractiveness.  We’ve all seen it and we know it exist.  It is the exact same in the workplace.  It seems that if you do not fall under the “pretty category” you lose value

Sure, it might be human nature to always go for the pretty one but has it really gotten to the point that employers discriminate by attractiveness.  Could it be that the plus size clothing I wear has caused me job positions and maybe even a raise?  Although there should not be this type of bias the truth is that it is there.  In the article, http://jobs.aol.com/articles/ 2009/12/16/think-looks-dont- matter-think-again Laura Sinberg talks about a scientific study that actually proved this to be right:

·         white females that put on an additional 64 pounds, her wages drop 9%.

·         the obese see a wage loss of 12%.

·         a woman who is 5 feet 7 inches tall--well above the national female average of 5 feet, 3.5 inches--will make $5,250 more over the course of a year than a female co-worker standing 5 feet 2 inches.

Should anything really be "acceptable" or "unacceptable"? That is like saying it is totally unacceptable to like a house for anything other than its value. The qualities of a person don’t come attached with work ethics.  A person attaches ethics to physical qualities.  So, of course a person that has both attributes will be favored.  It shows how much control they have when they can keep their physical appearance on check as well as their intellect.

Five middle schools in New York City are trying out a new fitness program for their students. Four hours a week, 25 students do yoga and other fitness activities after school, seeing if incorporating the Nintendo Wii into a fitness program is viable. Nintendo is backing this trial, donating all of the necessary equipment. If the program is a success, it can spread state-wide, with the help of private funding.
